Well what a fantastic day we had on Thursday for World Book Day! First of all, let's take a moment to appreciate the costumes and the level of effort that everyone made. We held our own catwalk show in the classroom and each of us shared the word that we had come dressed up as. The adults managed to select the top 5 costumes, whittle it down to 2 and then we voted on who the winner should be. We then had a special assembly in the hall where the winners from each class were announced. The winner in 4HT was Betty for coming as the word 'biodiversity'. Sienna was a very close 2nd as her costume was fantastic! We headed outside for a Reading Trail which was great fun and definitely challenged us! At the end of the day, Mrs Reading came to read to us and then we spent some time reading with children in her class.
Apologies for the late upload of this one, it got lost in the last day of term. We had a lovely day learning about Germany. We made some flags, learned about what school is like in Germany and how to say numbers 1-10 in German. Filip did some amazing research about German flags and brought it in to show us. Unfortunately the photographs are not uploading correctly at the moment.
We were set a really interesting challenge by Mrs Hurst in PSHE. We had to pass the ball around the entire circle without using either our arms or our legs. Needless to say, we were unsure whether it was even going to be possible to begin with. But we worked together as a team, learnt how important communication is as well as problem-solving and therefore trying out different suggestions for how we might achieve this. We might have dropped the ball a few times, but we just picked it up and carried on, working on our resilience and managing to complete the challenge. Even if it did take a little longer than we had anticipated. Then we calm back into the classroom and enjoyed some 'Calm Me' time, which was much needed after all the excitement.
