WW2 Evacuee Trip

We had the most wonderful time on our trip yesterday.

We were transported back to 1940 where the children were evacuated.

We met some fascinating people who told us stories of their experiences as evacuee children. We went to a school and met a war time teacher who showed us lots of interesting artifacts, we even got to dress up!

The air raid was rather loud, we had to hide in a shelter where we heard the sounds of enemy planes above, it was a brilliant way of trying to help us understand what it would have been like for children living through an air raid.

Then it was time to catch our train! We enjoyed singing songs and even saw a German spy! Luckily Mr Forrester and Mr Warren were there to catch her and save the day!

We finished the by attempting to fill a bucket with water using a wartime pump and hose, it was really hard work!
